Coffee doesn’t grow on trees. Okay, fine—it literally does. But the truly great stuff grows on so few trees that the big boys can’t source enough for their mega-markets. So they settle for cheaper, lower-grade beans… over-roast the life out of them, and call the burnt taste “bold flavor.” (truth is, even a very dark roast should still finish slightly sweet). Then weeks after roasting, bagging (or podding), warehousing and trucking, it finally gets shoved onto a shelf where it sits until someone feels sorry for it. By the time it reaches the cup, the flavor is flatlined; bitter, and pleading for cream and sugar.
That’s why we only serve you the highest-grade, top-scoring specialty beans…the lots the giants can’t touch because there just aren’t enough to go around. We roast in small batches and ship within days, while the coffee is still at its absolute peak.
